		<description>...So, after 36 years exposure to buddhism, you still understand it about as well as the local villagers. You do not claim to be a buddhist, yet here you are, writing about it authoritatively. Actually, anyone claiming to be a buddhist, but also not believing in re-birth, is denying one of the basic tenets of the religion. If you do not believe in what the Buddha taught how can you be a follower of the Buddha?
Taking bits and bobs of different religions, whatever suits us, and discarding the difficult bits...the bits which really matter, is just playing to our defilements.
Coming to Thailand and meeting Buddhism is a golden opportunity, and a very rare one....so if you choose to ignore it, it will be a very long time before you get the chance again.</description>
