Healthcare in Thailand is world class. I've never needed it but, on one occassion, I had to rush my girlfriend to hospital and I was extremely impressed with the quailty and service.

A head-injury in Thailand sent me back to the LOF
(Land of Farang) where physiotherapy involves the
"overworked therapist" (like you mentioned above)
instructing me to jump on the spot and touch my
nose with both arms outstretched. I had to go
back to Thailand to get the treatment most needed
by my good "Dr Kom", graduate of Wat Po massage
school. Commonwealth health services pale by
comparison with Thai hospitals too. They're all
talk when you most need action. I appreciate
your report of the quick, efficient, hands-on
approach - it fit's with my experience. It's
true what you mention about hygiene and secondary
ailments found within western hospitals too. Not
a place to go if you want to be healthy, these
places in the west. Bumrungrad is top-class.
