Would like to clear the common misconception that all Arabs are Muslim.
If you visit Middle Eastern conutries like Syria and Jordan, you will find many Arab Christians.
Don't complain about the low unemployment rate. When a country's citizens are employed, it results in lower levels of crime. Maybe the low crime rate is one of the reasons you choose to live here, apart from the the other more obvious ones.

excellent observations, I'm sure never meant any offence just dealing with facts and using them for laughs. Commendable! :D

Don't be seen in public drinking soft drink from a bottle or can in LOS. Use the straw provided. It shows that you were brought up right. Don't drink beer in public from a can or bottle. Use a glass. Don't drink beer through a straw if you want to remain standing over a long night. That's one of the funniest things about BKK - ladies drinking their beer from straws. I suppose it does the job more efficiently ...

One of the ten things I most love about LOS is the effort it takes at the local 711 to explain to the kids behind the counter there that I don't need six straws to take to my room with my cans of Chang, (to be consumed in the privacy of a hotel room during the HBO movie on a quiet night, from the can, alone, in private, unseen.)

Ah yes, the Mop Lady! The Nano-second Menu Choice!! Oh so true.

And these god-damned straws!!! Prior to Thailand, I'd never used them. In the last 6 weeks I've been given approximately 140 of the damn things!!! Not to mention all those little plastic spoons and a separate plastic bag for absolutely anything I buy.
