@Mike: I really would have no idea. I was just pointing out that in the chat world, Yahoo probably, at best, had about a 10% market share. MSN was the other 90%. Nowadays Thais are adopting FB and Skype more but not necessarily giving up MSN.

In my experience, at least up until very, very recently, not many Thais use(d) Yahoo. Thailand seems a very MSN place. Now with Facebook, Skype, and other alternatives this has changed a bit but MSN was by far the leading chat platform in Thailand.

Great Article. I have had luck meeting normal office girls in past years with Yahoo Chat. (Are chat sites still used? )
I also have picked up casually in a mall. So much better than clubs and parlors.

This is all the easy part. The challenge is find her “alone” in Paragon or CentralWorld. They are usually in clusters, as among the most frightening things in life for a Thai is being alone……..

Paragon and Central World seems obvious. But what do you think about BTS stations? I understand that most people are running to their jobs and have no much time for romances, but sometimes you can meets really nice girls there.

Hey.. I agree with most of your stuff but unfortunately i’m a little confused over one point. You say that you are not looking for a girl who is after financial security. However by approaching the girl on the phone and implying you are looking to buy a new phone… and then sending her the text that you bought it. Automatically the subject of your meeting and your connection was the “product” (the phone). She will have read into this that your a guy who likes to spend money… and therefore you must have it to spend so she would see you as a financial secure partner… but wasn’t that what you said you weren’t looking for. I’d be interested to know if you accidentally caught the fish you didn’t want… are you still dating…??

I come here randomly and found that you are mostly right about that.
I also read it for fun to my boyfriend, a viking one…yea of course Swedish.
We found out that oh yea you are right in many points.

However, we thai girls, we are not that different from others.

You can imagine that if you meet the girls in the club, it’s easy to start the conversation. And if you asked her background and she tell you the truth and you can prove it. So it means that you get a chance to meet nice+normal thai girls.

I said the club because it can break down the ego of people. Of course, people go to the club…we wanna have fun and get to know new people.

Kao Sarn Road may be tourist places, but if you hang out with those university students or those women who are just come there and relax from boring job during a weekday. I think you can find the nice people to hang out or date with too.

But I do believe that nice people are exist everywhere, but it would be cool if we find the right target.

I am French and working in Bangkok for more than 5 years; a few years ago, with a friend we discussed with a friend about going to the malls, well dressed, with our business cards in order to meet “nice girls”; but we never did )

For me, I face another problem; there are too many nice girls, whatever their skin colours, and it is not easy to focus on 1 girl only; too many temptations, too many sexy girls; if some friends would read my comments in my country, they could not understand, but it is true, too difficult to control and stop flying around.

So Billy, if you have also a solution not to get many phone numbers because my problem comes from here, but on how to focus on ONLY 1 girl when you get one, fell free to let me know; the only way I found was to leave the country, but unfortunately I really don’t want to!!
